POM-Buckles

POM buckles are made from polyacetal (POM), an engineering thermoplastic known for its strength, low friction and dimensional stability. Unlike our standard plastic buckles, POM buckles hold their shape and strength even in demanding conditions.

Material properties

Polyoxymethylene (POM), also called acetal, polyacetal or polyformaldehyde, is a precision engineering plastic rather than a general-purpose one. It's characterised by high stiffness, hardness and rigidity down to -40°C, and its low friction surface lets the buckle click open and shut smoothly without binding. It also absorbs impacts and vibrations well, so the buckle stays intact under sudden shock loads rather than cracking.
